Visit to Thoosa - 23 October 2008

So we think that our MD is getting a bit carried away with all these one-day visits to various European capitals . . . but he has convinced, at least himself, that it is hard work in a good cause. Anyway Gordon paid a brief visit to the Thoosa works in Copenhagen and came back very impressed with their whole set-up. At his request the Thoosa engineer gave a demonstration of the two maintenance jobs - changing the drive belt and changing the brushes - and potential customers will be pleased to learn that these operations are very straightforward and probably only required every three years or so.

With Solomon, Bellmann, and Thoosa we now have a really comprehensive range of motive systems to offer to you, our customer. We will be very pleased to discuss their relative merits with you.

Visit to Bellmann - 24 September 2008

Our MD made a one-day visit to the Bellmann , the manufacturers of Aquapella motors, who are located at Zeewolde, about 50 miles East of Amsterdam. Gordon was given an in-depth look at the Aquapella range and of particular note was their hybrid system whereby when the ICE is disengaged the electric motor 'takes the strain'. There will be a large number of customers interested in this.

Perhaps even more significant was the opportunity to look at their Bellmann 'Silent-Prop' AC motors with a power range from 10kW to 100kW. This means that at last the large commercial operators have a product that will fulfil their needs.

Supplying Solar Products - 2 July 2008

We are getting a large number of enquiries from boat owners and others who want to install solar panels on-shore, either to charge boat batteries or for domestic purposes. Having resisted, for some years, an involvement in this market we have bowed to the inevitable and are now offering a supply only service for solar panels and associated products (on-grid and off-grid)
