Hybrid System

The Hybrid is a universally applicable electric drive which can be installed directly on to the reversing clutch or over the propeller shaft. Because of its short length (135 mm) the system is very suitable for building into an existing propulsion systems.
The ratio between the number of revolutions of the electric motor and the propeller shaft is chosen so as to ensure that the electrical propulsion system is optimally adjusted to match the existing propeller and engine. An electronic interlock ensures that the fuel engine and the electric motor can never be engaged at the same time.
By placing two motors in a V shape an (electric) hybrid propulsion is created with a power of 7.2 kW. This version can be combined with a fuel engine up to 40 HP.

Hybrid Motor

Photo: Solomon Electric Motor The hybrid motor is a compact electric drive of 3.6 or 7.2 kW which can be combined with any internal combustion engine up to 40 HP. When using electric power the hybrid gets the required energy from the motive batteries. When sailing using the internal combustion engine the batteries are automatically charged with a maximum power of 3.6 kW.
