Motors

These motors have carbon brushes, which need to be replaced after 3000 sailing hours
Whilst the large motor diameter results in a very high torque its overall size is compact and the motor is very light (11kg).
The output power of up to 7.2 kW S1 (continuous use) depends on the voltage, but greater voltage means additional rpm. The 24 volt (2.4 kW) motor motor runs at up to 1120 rpm and the 36 Volt (3.6 kW) up to 1700 rpm, this makes them ideal for installation without gearing. For higher outputs a gearing system is usually necessary which is why we normally recommend AC motors above 3.6 kW.

Motor Controllers

The motor controller is an essential part of the motive system. The CPM 110 has been developed to provide a continuous 110 Amps at 24, 36 or 48 Volts. The microprocessor-driven controller takes into account the type of boat and sailing conditions, thus ensuring that the required power is always available.

Making use of sturdy bayonet connectors, the batteries, motor, display and joystick are connected to the controller. This results in a solid, reliable and easily installed system.

Hi-Tech Display and Controls

The High-Tech Display is supplied as part of the systems and shows all important motor and battery information on one screen. You can always see how long you have to sail with the current battery capacity and speed. A suitable joystick is supplied, and there is further choice of joysticks as optional extras.
